Downhill Daredevils? This NB Trail Shoe Update is For You
An all-new version of the New Balance Fresh Foam X Hierro means a lighter shoe with better traction
Built on the base of the popular 1080 road shoe New Balance’s Fresh Foam cushioning compound comes alive in this signature ride, the new New Balance Hierro V7.
Downhill Delight
The redesign of the outsole provided an opportunity to do something new and for those who love to blitz downhill to make up time or experience sheer exhilaration, the new Vibram Megagrip outsole and traction lugs are designed specifically for downhills, with braking elements at the back and an aggressive placement in the middle to forefoot to give you more confidence and grip when you’re amped to take those chances.
Upper
The upper now uses a lighter fabric and simpler design to previous versions but keeps the toe cap for protection upfront. It’s also reinforced on the heel to make sure the lockdown of the foot is not compromised.
Key Features
- Engineered synthetic mesh upper with a simpler design
- Fresh Foam X midsole for a smoother ride
- Vibram MegaGrip outsole to improve downhill grip.
- No-sew overlays to reduce weight
The new trail shoe is a complete design overhaul from previous versions with the main purpose of reducing weight. The Hierro V7 shaves off weight from the upper and the outsole to come in at featherweight 300g – one of the lightest shoes in the category.
