Doke Named Editor For Runner’s World Trail Mag
Top trail runner Linda Doke named as Editor of quarterly Runner's World Trail magazine starting 2018.
Linda Doke, one of South Africa’s most well-known women ultra-distance trail runners, will take over the reigns as editor of Runner’s World Trail magazine starting in the January edition of the quarterly publication.
Doke has more than 20 race wins to her name, many of them women’s records, and has competed in a range of ultra trail races around the world, including a 7-day self-sufficient race in Iceland and in the Kalahari Desert, a 100-miler in the Rann of Kutch in India, the 174km Grand Raid of Réunion, and the 8-day Trans-Alpine stage race in Europe, to name but a few. She also represented South Africa in the World Ultra Trail Championships in Wales in 2013.
Linda’s passion for running, and for trail running in particular, runs very deep, and her insights into and joy for running are evident in her zest for life.
“There is no-one better to take over the reigns of a magazine dedicated to trail runners than someone who knows the sport probably better than anyone else,” Runner’s World Editor-In-Chief Mike Finch said. “Our investment in this publication speaks volumes for our faith in Linda and the ongoing rapid growth of trail running in South Africa.”
She will take over the editorship of the magazine as the magazine extends its frequency to four quarterly issues in 2018.
The magazine will focus on training, races and places, gear and feature profiles on the men and women that make the sport one of the most rapidly-growing past-times in South Africa.
The first issue will be sale on January 8, 2018 and will cost R60.
For advertisers booking deadlines are 29 November 2017.
