Dear Body (esp. Legs & Heart), I am so, so sorry for what I have put you through over the past 7 months – BUT WE DID IT! 56 kilometers in 06:48 ??‍♀️?? The Two Oceans truly is ‘The World’s Most Beautiful Marathon,’ not only because of the spectacular views, but also because the enthusiastic, kind, generous Capetonians came out in their numbers to support us (incl. potatoes and frozen salt cubes!) Being able to run and finish this race in my mom’s honour is bittersweet, but it is a dream come true, and I hope I’ve done the experience justice. Thank you @melanthameyer for being my number one supporter, I don’t deserve you. Lastly, sorry for all the spamming about my fundraiser for @j9foundation over the last couple of months, thank you so much to everyone who donated. He gave it absolutely everything he possibly had and finished the 2018 @2oceansmarathon on crutches! 31-year-old Ipeleng Khunou was born with a rare condition called Septo-optic Dysplasia.
