RECORD FEST AT 2022 ADIZERO: ROAD TO RECORDS
European and national records set in Adizero Takumi Sen 8
Herzogenaurach, Germany adidas’ record-breaking Adizero franchise has celebrated yet another achievement with Yemaneberhan Crippa breaking the European and Italian national records in the 5K (13.14 min) at its ADIZERO: ROAD TO RECORDS 2022 event.
Taking place at the adidas HQ in Herzogenaurach, Germany, the event saw elite adidas athletes compete on a specially designed course around the adidas World of Sport campus across 5K, 10K and 21K distances. The race was broadcast on the adidas running YouTube channel where viewers were given the opportunity to watch the action and records fall live.
All athletes competed in the shoes from the record-breaking Adizero franchise with Yemaneberhan Crippa breaking the European and Italian national 5K records in the Adizero Takumi Sen 8.
The national records didn’t stop there, with Azale Fentaye Belanyeh smashing the Ethiopian national 10K record (30.24 min), Sarah Chelangat breaking Uganada´s national record (31.11 min) and Yasemin Can breaking the Turkish national record (32.04 min) in the same distance. Another national 10K record includes Rodrigue Kwizera breaking Burundi’s national record in 26.56 min.
The 5K distance also saw a number of national records broken, including Nicolas Kimeli Kipkorir smashing the Kenyan national 5K record (12.55 min), Birhanu Balew breaking Bahrain’s national 5K record (13.07 min), Yemane Haileselassie breaking the Eritrean national 5K record (13.34 min) and Nadia Battocletti smashing Italy’s national record (15.13 min).
