This Ultimate Enduro Garmin Watch Is a Game-Changer
The Enduro 2, Garmin’s ultimate hard-wearing multisport watch, is built to handle off-road and ultrarunning adventures with its game-changing battery life.
With an unrivalled 80-hour GPS run time – extendable up to 300 hours in endurance mode – the Enduro 2 is also boosted by its solar charging ability that harnesses the sun’s rays to charge the device while you are out on the trail or long run.
In tests, the watch lasted an astonishing 30 days on a single charge, with 30 hours of indoor and outdoor GPS-tracked workouts. An eight-hour ultra, using full GPS, burned just 10%. That means it’ll happily eat a run streak (like a full month of hour-long efforts) between charges, and survive multi-day ultras with ease.
But it’s not all battery. The Enduro offers Garmin’s complete suite of training tools and insights. That includes reliable heart rate and accurate GPS, plus training effect, training load and recovery recommendations and training-session suggestions. Running modes include road, trail, ultra and indoor with trail-adjusted VO2-max estimates and a nifty ultra feature that splits out the time you spend dawdling at aid-station buffets.
Solar Charged
The rugged, sophisticated and lightweight design features a large 1.4″ solar charged display and 51 mm case with sapphire lens. The UltraFit band stays comfy over long distances – even in punishing conditions.
For those heading into unknown territory, the preloaded TopoActive Africa maps – and additional maps from around the world – keep your explorations on track. The built-in Wi-Fi® connectivity allows you to load and update maps and software without using a computer. To help you stay on your plotted course, the watch uses NextFork Mapguide to navigate while you’re out on the trail with a quick glance. See the distance to the next trail intersection as well as the name of the upcoming trail.
While you’re recovering, probably in a tent, you can get insight into what condition your body is in with these feedback features:
- Body Battery, checks your body’s energy reserves, using heart rate variability, stress, sleep and other data to gauge when you’re ready to be active or when you may need to rest.
- Pulase OX sensor, for altitude acclimation and sleep monitoring, a Pulse Ox5 sensor uses light beams at your wrist to gauge how well your body is absorbing oxygen.
- Sleep Score and Monitoring, Get a full breakdown of your light, deep and REM sleep stages. View it all on a dedicated widget that includes your sleep score and insights.
