Brooks Running has launched the latest innovation into the Glycerin range, the Glycerin MAX.  At the heart of this new shoe is Brooks’ revolutionary DNA Tuned cushioning technology, engineered to make every step during the run feel more effortless by perfectly balancing plush landings with responsive toe-offs. The DNA Tuned technology is a breakthrough in footwear design, utilising nitrogen-infused properties that strategically adjust to provide optimal comfort and performance with every stride. 

Innovation Rooted in Runner Insights
Glycerin MAX was born from two key runner insights. The first insight revealed that each runner has unique needs for cushioning and support. Often, improving one aspect, such as cushioning, can result in trade-offs, like reduced resilience. Runners also noted that many solutions in the market appeared too similar. Our goal with DNA Tuned was to create a cushioning and support system that provides the best experience without compromise, using different materials in one seamless bottom unit.

The result is a patent-pending supercritical foam technology (DNA Tuned) that optimises cushioning and ride experience through two distinct cell sizes placed strategically within the midsole. Larger cells in the heel provide softer landings, while smaller, more responsive cells in the forefoot deliver powerful toe-offs.

In addition to its exceptional performance, the Glycerin MAX also embodies Brooks’ commitment to sustainability. The DNA Tuned midsole is 18% bio-based, which helps reduce carbon emissions compared to traditional EVA materials. By utilising sugarcane in the manufacturing process, Brooks is actively reducing its reliance on fossil fuels and contributing to a more sustainable future.

For decades, Brooks has been at the forefront of developing adaptive cushioning solutions that cater to the unique needs of runners. Glycerin MAX is the culmination of years of research and development, drawing on this rich history to introduce a new generation of cushioning. The DNA Tuned midsole contains no added layers or adhesives, keeping the shoe extremely light and durable and giving it an unmatched ride. This technique isn’t a new innovation; Brooks started infusing their foams back in 2020, when the Hyperion Tempo dropped with DNA Flash foam. Now, DNA Tuned presents a new element in Brooks’s foam formula: dual-cell technology. The shoe has a towering stack height and a huge mattress-of-a-midsole that harbours larger cells in the heel and smaller cells in the forefoot to provide ‘dampening cushioning’ to soften landings, as well as a springboard to promote responsive toe-off
