The Buco Kowie Striders 27km and 10km Pineapple Run

The Buco Kowie Striders 27km and 10km Pineapple Run is a road-running race and walk in Eastern Cape, covering 27km and 10km, on 6 October 2018.

Most of the climbing is done in the first half of the 27km, and the second half is run on gravel roads through farms and game farms. The last 5km heads into Port Alfred.

The 10km is a fast course in and around Port Alfred, with one steep hill at the half-way mark.

Limited transport is available from the Port Alfred Country Club to the start of the 27km, from 5:30am (cost: R25).

Gold medals are awarded to category winners in the 27km and 10km, silver to runners under 2 hours in the 27km and bronze to the next 350 finishers. Glasses are awarded to all finishers of both races.

The school with the most entries of eight or more receives R500, and the club with the most entries receives R500.

There is food available and a cash bar at the Port Alfred Country Club.

Pre-entries, on entrytime.com, close on 2 October. You can also enter at the Port Alfred Country Club on 5 October, between 5pm and 8pm, and the 10km on race day, between 5am and 6am.
