NIKE Celebrates the Spirit of Running for Marathon Week
As the city gears up for marathon weekend, Nike will bring the running community together through a series of experiences leading up to race day on Sunday 19 October.
…and hosted a lineup of activities designed to celebrate the culture of running…
Over the week, Nike has painted 70 Bree Street red and hosted a lineup of activities designed to celebrate the culture of running, community, and connection. The activations will include 5km shake-out runs, trail their latest innovations, the Pegasus Premium, Vomero Plus, and Structure 26, and panel discussions featuring leading voices in the running community that bring together athletes and fitness enthusiasts, ahead of the marathon.
This week marks an important moment for many runners who have spent months preparing for it. As a brand, Nike is proud to play its part by creating spaces where runners can connect, learn, and find inspiration, whether they’re experienced marathoners or just starting their journey. Running demands immense grit and endurance, and Nike is honoured to stand alongside the community in support of every runner taking on this challenge.
From shake-out runs to insightful conversations, Nike’s presence for Marathon Week underscores its commitment to uplifting South Africa’s running community and celebrating the shared passion that drives it forward.
