The trails weave along the banks of the river and enter a private game reserve. The 10km, which covers part of the 21.1km route, is relatively flat with only a few hills. The 21.1km climbs into the Winterberg mountain range, and the first 8km is challenging. Magnificent views, and the opportunity to spot game, makes the effort worthwhile.

Starting time: 21.1km, 10km & 2.5km: 8am

Medals are awarded to the top three men and women in the 10km and 21.1km, and race tops are given to the first 100 entrants.
