The TRAC N4 Elands Marathon will take place on the N4 route between Emgwenya (Waterval Boven) and Ngodwana in Mpumalanga on 7 May 2022. Known as the fastest Comrades qualifier, this race is expected to draw participants from across the country

Back after a 12-year hiatus, this is one road race you don’t want to miss! 

With South Africa still on Covid-19 adjusted alert Level 1, strict Covid-19 protocols will be adhered to throughout the race. Although this may change if the national state of emergency is lifted before race day, the protocols are currently as follows:

Runners will be set off in batched groups.

Masks will be required on busses and at the race’s start and finish.

Waterpoints will be managed according to Covid-19 regulations.

A tog bag collection point will be available at the start, from where they will be transported to the finish.

Race Rules

  • The race will be run according to AMPU & ASA rules
  • REFEREES’ DECISION IS FINAL
  • Obey all Traffic Officials and Race Marshals.
  • All Covid 19 protocols need to be adhered to. 
  • The race will be run according to the rules of ASA, WORLD ATHLETICS (WA) & AMPU House rules. 
  • Age restrictions for each race: 
    10 km – 14 years or older
    21,1km – 16 years or older
    42,2km – 18 years or older;  

Proof of age (ID) to be produced upon request on the day of race.        

  • All athletes will participate at their own risk and by entering the event they acknowledge that they are medically fit to participate. 
  • Registered athletes must wear full club colours.
  • 2022 license numbers on the front and back of the vest.
  • A temporary license must be fixed on the back of the vest. 
  • Age category ID tags must be clearly displayed for the duration of the event (back and front) by athletes competing for a category prize AND must be fixed on all 4 corners and not be covered by a rain jacket or any shirt. 
  • Only athletes with a race number and licensed numbers will be allowed into the event area.  Race number must be worn on the front of the vest.  Next of kin name and contact number must appear on the entry form and race number. 
  • ASA license numbers must not be covered with any paper race numbers /race bib. 
  • Walkers competing for Walkers prizes must have the “W” fixed on the left front and back of the vest, all 4 corners must be fixed. 
  • There will be no prize giving.  Prize money will be transferred electronically. 
  • No littering! Please make use of waste boxes at the start/finish – RUN CLEAN!
  • All participants must take note that photographs might be taken at the event and placed on social media.
  • The use of earphones during the race is not allowed and may lead to disqualification.
