Old Fisherman’s Trail Challenge

A spectacular trail across the mountains that separate the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, from Fish Hoek to Hout Bay.

Update from the organisers:

We would just like to give you an update and let you know what the plans are for the Old Fisherman’s Trail Challenge 2020. We are continuing to plan and organise the trail run. We are keeping up to date with the current situation and will have to make decisions as things unfold. We hope that we won’t have to postpone or cancel the event. We will work with all stakeholders to find the best plan of action.

Please note that the original date advertised on the website has changed. The Old Fisherman’s Trail Challenge will now take place on Saturday 4th July 2020.

This year we will be starting at Fish Hoek Beach Beach Sailing Club and finishing at Hout Bay Harbour. It is known as the up run.

Cut off: 4.5 hours (Leg 1 – 2:15 hours)
Distance: +-24km
Route: Marked, divided into 2 legs, check out the route details
Total elevation: +-1137m

The Entry Process is split into two stages:

The first 100 places will be offered to the 2019 race finishers and Charity Entries (Supporting the Volunteer Wildfire Services) – Wednesday 15th April 2020 at 10:00am
Remaining places -Thursday 16th April 2020 at 10:00am

2019 Finishes will receive an email with their access code to be used to register with on Tuesday 14th April 2020. Please do let us know if you would like to change your email address.

Entry fees are:
Individual: R595.00
Charity Entry: R1200.00

Bus:

There will be a 1 x 60-seater buses to transport runners, before the race, from the Finish (Hout Bay) to the Start (Fish Hoek) at 06:00am.

You will be able to purchase bus tickets (R90.00) when you register.
