Num-Num Trail Challenge

With a field limited to 200 runners, the Num-Num Trail Challenge will again be an exclusive challenge for fit trail runners who love pristine nature trails. The full course is 32km long with 1700 meters of ascent and over some of the toughest, most variable terrain at high altitude on the African Escarpment. The 32km challenge is definitely not for sissies.

32km – 07:00am / 13km – 07:30am

Solo knee-breaker, single-stage trail run. There are steep up hills, down hills, technical trails, bridges and ladders.
Explore the hidden gems of the Highveld Escarpment. Gorges, kloofs, indigenous forests, sandstone labyrinths, open grasslands, waterfalls, game and birds.
There will be no refunds for cancellations. You will have the option to pay via credit / debit cared or EFT. If you choose the EFT option, you will have 48 hours to make payment. After the 48 hours, the entry system will automatically delete unpaid entries and pass it on to the next person on the waiting list. Substitutions can be made up to two days prior to the event.
REGISTRATION & START
Registration desk will be open on Friday afternoon (26 July) from 17h00 – 19h00pm at the race village in the Pongola Express Camp. Those who cannot register on the Friday evening before the race must arrive at least an hour before your race start time to register and collect your race tag. You must ensure that you collect your ‘race tag’ from the RaceTime Team.
The race briefing will be 10 minutes before the start time of each group.
The Num-Num Trail Challenge is situated midway between Machadodorp and Badplaas. This is the lip of the Drakensburg Escarpment with natural wonders hidden in kloofs and gorges.
Both race categories go through twisty forest areas, sandstone rock formations, open grasslands, steep climbs and descents and waterfalls galore. There is only 3km of jeep track running; the rest is all single track trails.
