Inaugural Bottelary Conservancy Eco Weekend

We learned to run during prohibition. Now is your opportunity to bend the rules a little with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to lay the first footprints on a newly built MTB trail just as the sun sets over False Bay.  On the 1st of October, we celebrate the launch of the new Karibib loop of the Bottelary Hills Conservancy MTB

Trails with a very unique Smokkel Run. Limited to only 100 entrants.

Runners will get the opportunity to break in the new 6.2km trail that is otherwise restricted to cyclists! And, do so as the sun sets over False Bay, flying in the face of the regular “daylight access only” restrictions.

This is a self-timed race. Runners can clock their run on the Strava section. “Beat Barry’s boep” and receive a Somm & Co. tasting voucher to the value of R150. Fastest time on the section wins an all-inclusive Winelands lunch for four people served with an assortment of incredible craft wine. All finishers receive a bottle of either Smokkelman Red or White of their choosing.

Race starts at 18h30 and ends at the Somm & Co Karibib Tasting Room. Food and wine will be available for supporters and after the race. Headlamps are mandatory.
