Last night I slept a lot better and it felt less cold…but I was probably just exhausted from the first day’s racing.
Day 1 of Atacama Desert Race
Last night must go down as one of the coldest nights of my life…. the consequences of trying to have a light pack and not using a sleeping mat!
Final Preparations for the Atacama
Most competitors have now arrived in the small town of San Pedro and are making final race preparations. I went for a short run this morning to check everything is still working and it hit home – I am finally in the Atacama Desert.
Road Tripping through Bolivia and Chile
Due to the earthquake in Chile, the Atacama Crossing will now be starting on Monday next week as opposed to Sunday, but we will still finish on Saturday of next week and still cover the same distance as originally planned.
Ryan’s Chilean Adventure
Ryan Sandes is currently in Bolivia and his wanting to get IN to Chille, whilst everyone else is fleeing. The Atacama Desert Crossing starts on Sunday.
