DESCRIPTION:Adventure Racing is a fun concept of combining the following sport disciplines: mountain biking\, running/trekking\, kayaking\nand navigation. In this shorter version of adventure racing\, you only need to be able to read a printed Google Map to orienteer yourself from point to point. Teams of 2 members will take on this race together.\n\nKinetic Events and Addicted2Adventure.co.za have joined hands when it comes to the organisation of the 25km Adventure Races in South Africa which has been organised by the former for many years.\n\nBeginners\, more advanced athletes and the hard core racers out there are all welcome!\n\nWho’s joining us?\n\nRace Distance\n\nThe race will cover approximately 25 km’s\nDuration between 2 and 4 hours\nApprox. 18 km cycling and 6 km running/trekking and 1km kayaking\n\nRace Disciplines\n\nMountain biking – Teams should be prepared for a range of riding including single track\, steep hills\, gravel roads and sealed roads\nTrekking – Will involve traveling by foot through rugged terrain\nKayaking – Kayaking will be on a dam / flat water. Kayaks and paddles will be provided by race organizers. Fluid Synergy kayaks will be used. These kayaks are very stable and suitable for novices. Teams who are unsure about their swimming ability should bring their own life jackets\nOrienteering – Basic orienteering is an extremely important part of the race. The course is not marked and teams are required to navigate using the map. DESCRIPTION:Nelson Mandela Bay\, the home of IRONMAN in Africa\, plays host to the latest event in the Standard Bank 5150 African Triathlon Series with the addition of the Standard Bank 5150 Nelson Mandela Bay and Standard Bank FUNTRI set to take place on the 24 November 2019. \nThe hugely popular standard distance triathlon series has been running in South Africa since 2011 with events in Bela Bela and Germiston. The series made its debut in Nelson Mandela Bay in 2016 at King’s Beach. \nThe standard distance race in Nelson Mandela Bay is great as an introduction for first-time athletes but challenging enough for seasoned athletes. The race is also ideal as a warm up for the Standard Bank IRONMAN 70.3 South Africa in January giving athletes the opportunity to experience the flow of big event while becoming accustomed to the non-drafting nature of the race. \nFor those looking for something shorter\, there will be the option of the Standard Bank FUNTRI. The FUNTRI will feature a 450-metre swim\, 20km bike and 5km run and both team and individual entries are available for the FUNTRI. The FUNTRI will take place at the same time\, on the same course – covering approximately half the distance – and will finish at the same finish line as the Standard Bank 5150 Nelson Mandela Bay. \nBoth races will start at King’s Beach with the transition area located in the King’s Beach parking area. Athletes will then start the cycle\, exiting the King’s Beach parking area turning left onto Marine Drive to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the coast before heading back to transition.  The run course will showcase the recently renovated King’s Beach precinct and open air amphitheatre as athletes are taken along the coastline past Nelson Mandela Bay’s premier public beaches before returning back towards the finish line at King’s Beach. \nEmail nmb@5150.com for more info.

DESCRIPTION:“The one with that hill.” Run – voted the best place to get back to nature in Gauteng for 9 years in a row – and climbs the relentless ridges of the adjoining Muldersdrift Hobby Park. The 12km and 20km routes which head into the open rocky Highland grassland and include more technical running sections\, together with the 6km loop\, are all a great challenge to tackle on a Sunday morning. Fiercely competed or enjoyed at a more leisurely pace\, both pass by the cascading waterfall and cliffs home to a breeding pair of majestic Verreaux’s Eagles. Bring a picnic and come and enjoy the gardens with us. There will be food and drinks on sale and a jumping castle for the kids. \nTea\, coffee and assorted muffins will be on sale at the early morning registration. \nEagle’s Fare Restaurant inside the Gardens is open from 09h00 and offers a superb menu or bring along the family and a picnic and enjoy the beautiful setting relaxing on the lawns. \nThe Merrell Summer Kiddies Run will feature a magical 2km marked loop inside the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens. The little trail running enthusiasts will be led by a superhero character alongside either Mom or Dad. START IS AT 09h30. As they cross the line they will be met with cheers and hoots of delight. DESCRIPTION:Welcome to a brand-new Multi-Day Trail Running event brought to you by The Leverage Corporation. \nThis first 3-day Trail Run event called The TLC Trail Running Festival is scheduled to take place at Warthogs Bush Camp from Friday the 8th to Sunday the 10th of November 2019. \nCLICK HERE to find out more about this stunning location situated adjacent to Askari Lodge\, between the Hartebeespoort Dam and Magaliesburg. \nYou can choose from a number of offerings: \n\nThe TLC Trail Running Festival – aka HARDCORE\nThe TLC Trail Running Festival – aka LITE\n\nRunners and walkers are both welcome and will have the choice to participate on a day and a distance of their preference from the selection available. \nParticipate either in one of the 3-day options\, or you choose from a number of other distances. \nDAY AND DISTANCE OPTIONS \nFriday 8th Nov – 5km or 10km Night Trail Run \nSaturday 9th Nov – 25km\, 16km or a special 8km Beer Run (not for the faint-hearted!) \nSunday 10th Nov – 16km\, 10km & 5km \nAccommodation available! Make your choice to stay for the weekend\, with options ranging from a standard tent with 2 mattresses\, or a VIP tent with 2 stretchers\, to a slightly more luxurious tent with 2 beds and semi-private ablution facilities. Top of the range are a Bush Camp Lodge\, or even a beautiful room at Askari Lodge\, right over the road. \n(Early booking is essential as accommodation is limited) \nStay together with friends/family or make your own accommodation arrangements. \nOur trails are exclusive – nobody will get the chance to run on these tracks as the land is privately owned. \nThe TLC Trail Running Festival offers more serious runners an opportunity to do some good distances\, whilst there are lighter races for the weekend Trail Running enthusiast. \nThe Main event\, aka HARDCORE\, will consist of: \n\nFriday the 8th – 10km Night Trail Run \nSaturday the 9th – 25km Trail Run\nSunday the 10th – 16km Trail Run\n\nThe LITE event will consist of: \n\nFriday the 8th – 5km Night Trail Run\nSaturday the 9th – 16km Trail Run\nSunday the 10th – 10km Trail Run\n\nFamilies and friends are also welcome to participate in some of the distances/days and choose to run only on Friday night\, or a combination where they run on Friday and Sunday. The choice is theirs. \nTo make Sunday a more fun day there is a 5km run or walk for younger or not-so-fit athletes who still want to join in the festival. \nAnd there’s more! \nInternational Craft Beer\, such as Le Trapp\, De Kat\, G&T on tap and others will be on offer. There will be massage services\, a coffee station\, a chill zone and other vendors\, making this a special fun-filled weekend. \nBring the whole family – game drives and elephant experiences are also available for non-runners. \nPlease note: To support wildlife conservation\, all supporters and visitors will have to pay a R50 Reserve Fee on entry (kids under 12 will only pay R20).
