DESCRIPTION:The annual Bestmed TuksRace is set to kick-off on Saturday 15 February 2020 at 05:30am from the University of Pretoria Hillcrest Sports Campus. All standard IAAF (ASA in South Africa) affiliated marathons\, and races longer than 42.2 km count as qualifying races\, provided that the racecourse is officially measured\, and the race is officially timed. Bestmed TuksRace does provide all that you need to qualify for the Two Oceans race as well as the Comrades Marathon for 2020. \nThe Bestmed TuksRace invites members of the community\, as well as running club members to tackle this race and set the pace for the running calendar in northern Gauteng. The programme offers much choice which suits the needs the serious runners as well as the novice who is looking to improve their health by being more active. On offer is the full marathon (42.2km)\, the half-marathon (21.1km)\, or a warmup for future longer marathons in the 5km or 10km races. DESCRIPTION:A Proudly EC Trail Run on an operational livestock farm in the Eastern Cape\, the Winston Whip is an opportunity for trail runners across the country to enjoy some of the hidden gems of the Amahlathi area in the Eastern Cape. \nSituated between Hogsback and Cathcart\, Winston Farm is the home of The Winston Whip. The Whip was started in order to promote tourism in our breathtakingly beautiful area that hardly anyone knows about and what better way to do it than a trail run. The 50km run is made up of 2 stages over 2 days. \nDay 1 is a challenging 29km run reaching a maximum altitude of  about 1700m. It starts at 1400m with 2 inclines that will get the blood flowing nice and early. Before you know it\, you are 1550m above see level and the fun begins. With Cathcart and the Windvogel Mountain behind you\, you head for the top of Winston Farm which uncovers spectacular views of The Little Elandsberg\, The Elandsberg\, The 3 Hogs and Gaikas Kop. The trail is made up of a maze of cattle and sheep paths through the veld which takes you past all the best dams\, natural springs and grazing spots you can imagine. Various water points on the route with 1 or 2 stops at the natural springs coming out of the mountain along the way. Just before you head back down the mountain to the finish for a cold beer you can have a dip in the fresh spring water reservoir to cool off. \nDay 2 is an enjoyable 21km run that starts with a gradual incline reaching 1620m above sea level within the first 6km\, this will be your max altitude for the day. This sets you up for 15kms of bliss along the Western Side of the Mountain and down onto the banks of the Kliplaat River where you will spend most of the day. When you stop running with the flow of the river\, you know The Whip is coming to a close. The route takes you for one last loop past one more view point (the Studio)\, before bringing you home past the Winston Church and back along the district road so you can stretch your legs for the photo finish. \nThe race village is setup around the Grumpy Grouse\, our Pub and Entertainment area. The Days will start and finish at the Grumpy Grouse (cash bar available) and all meals will be served here as well. DESCRIPTION:The Bay Ultra powered by Amobia is one of only two ultra-distance races in the Eastern Cape which have prestige and participation league status and is the only one staged in Port Elizabeth. Because of its position in the road running calendar\, it is a qualifying event for the Two Oceans Marathon and Comrades Marathon\, and is often used by athletes to gauge their training for these internationally known events. \nThe 50km is a circular course starting at Pollok Beach\, going through Walmer and onto Upper Seaview Road;  the route then takes runners on to Sardinia Bay Road\, Victoria Drive and then back along Marine Drive where runners enjoy the scenic\, pristine Eastern Cape coastline. SUMMARY:STBB Red Hill Marathon & Classic
DESCRIPTION:The STBB Red Hill Marathon takes place on the 25th of January 2020\, starting from Fish Hoek Athletic Club. \nRunners will line up facing away from Peer’s Cave and set off along the secondary road. After approximately 100 meters\, at the fork with this road and what is nominally 21st Avenue\, the runners will proceed through the Corsair Way Robots and four-way robots.   The route then takes the runners through Kommetjie\, Misty Cliffs\, Scarborough\, and at the Perdekloof Picnic site\, the Marathon runners will veer off towards Cape Point for a 6km loop\, while the Classic runners will continue over Red Hill. The Marathon runners will join the same route again after the loop. \nThe runners join up with the Simonstown Main Road at the end of Red Hill\, and continue towards Fish Hoek. \nTurn right into 2nd ave\, left into Recreation Road\, right into Central circle\, right into Disa road\, left into Erica Rd\, right into Elgin Circle\, left into Genoa\, Right into upper Recreation Road\, and then proceed to the Poplar Road footpath.  Once through the footpath\, they proceed along Poplar Road\, before turning right onto the gravel road at the municipal yard\, left onto the sports field and to the finish outside the Athletic Club. \nRed Hill Marathon is an official qualifier for the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon and Comrades

About 8km of some singletrack and the trail meets the last part of the green route just before the refreshment station.\n15km route – the same as the 12.5km with an extra 3km singletrack section to the top of the Koppie that is rocky and steep – for fit runners only! A self-help water can about halfway and a refreshment station about 4km from the finish. DESCRIPTION:The Bay to Bay event has been in existence for more 43 years and for the last 6 years has been hosted by the TOPFORM Athletics Club. \nThe 2020 event will be called the CFA Society South Africa Bay to Bay Road Race after the sponsor and will include a 5km fun run as part of the main activities. \nTraditionally it has been run over a classic distance of 30km with its start and finish in the Camps Bay area. The event starts in Camps Bay and proceeds over the long climb at Llandudno into Hout Bay and turns at the halfway point at the famous “World of Birds”\, and returns along the same route over the infamous Suikerbossie Hill to finish at the Maidens Cove recreational area. \nIn recent years a 15 kilometer event has been added starting in Hout Bay harbour\, as well as a 5km fun run. \nThe race has grown over recent years from 2500 participants to 5000 across all distances\, this is mainly due to the amazing views and race “gees”\, plus this event has also for many years been the main event in January on the Cape Town road running calendar\, as its an early tester for runners who have their sights on the TWO OCEANS and COMRADES marathons. \nThis is an online entry only event and entries are limited to 5700. The event is open to all runners\, joggers and walkers. The proceeds for the event is donated to the NSRI Station 31 in Stilbaai. \nRun or walk in paradise along the sea and the lagoon. \nEnter at the NSRI building on 30 December between 17:00 and 19:00 or on the morning of the race from 05:00.

The event was the brainchild of Springbok rugby legend\, Hennie le Roux and meanders through the game farms of the Kariega Valley.
