DESCRIPTION:Run The Vines will take place at the Windmeul Kelder as part of the Waterblommetjie Festival where they will host their traditional potjiekos competition that sees teams from far and wide competing in a taste-off to earn the coveted title and bragging rights for the year. The festival co-incides with their monthly farmers’ market where visitors can buy amazing local produces. \nThe waterblommetjie is one of South Africa’s most famous edible plants. It has a long history of use by the indigenous Khoikhoi\, both medicinally and as a nutritious food. The name means “little water flower” and though it’s an edible flower\, it’s not the sort that is used to garnish a salad. \nJoin us on the 2nd of September at Windmeul for a fun day out with the whole family. Perfect for families and walkers. \nOur longer 10km is great for intermediate runners\, taking you around the dam and over the rise to some single track which wraps back down through the vineyards to the finish line with a max elevation of 200m. \nThe popular 21km is back which will be a great option for the experienced trail runners looking for a challenge. The 21km athletes will be shuttled to the start at Havana Hills and runs along the gravel road to Capaia. At Capaia the route heads into the mountains for some steep but breathtaking single track before heading back to the finish through the vineyards. \nGrab your boerewors roll (or braai broodjie) at Mariella’s Restaurant when you finish. DESCRIPTION:It is spring time and the Stellenbosch Full Moon Runs are back and better than ever. We have an exciting line-up of venues and can’t wait to have you back. Come find out more about the series ahead and some great prizes for the series winners. \nThere will be a 5km and 10km route. We will be starting as the sun goes down\, so be sure to bring a light or a headlamp (compulsory)\, as a part of your run will be in the dark. It is also important to bring your own cup or soft flask. \nThe Middelvlei Full Moon Run is a great way to spring into action and get back on the trails. Expect some spectacular views over Onder papegaaiberg and the Stellenbosch mountains\, as the moon rises. \nThis is not just a run but a fun evening out\, where you can enjoy live music\, good food and superb wine after the run. Other distances are included to bring a day to Port Elizabeth to accommodate all levels of athletes. Select one of the various distances to suite your fitness and come to test yourself! \n3Rivers Trails never disappoints from 6ks to 50+\, you will always be blown away by its beauty. \nENTRIES OPEN FROM 01 JANUARY! \nPre entries for this event will close at 13:00 on the 28th of September.
