DESCRIPTION:South Africa’s ballsiest 5km Run is back and ready to raise eyebrows while raising awareness of male cancers. \nicking off at 15h00\, the 5km fun run dares the city’s bravest males to strip down to Purple Speedos and run through the streets in the name of a good cause. \nThe “Run-not-a-race” encourages men of all ages\, shapes and sizes to run five kilometres through peak hour traffic in an effort to drive awareness of the scourge of male cancers in South Africa. The act of stripping down to nothing but a Speedo is not only challenging for runners (and for some onlookers!) but also challenges stereotypes about male cancers\, in the interests of starting conversations about understanding and lowering cancer risk\, and encouraging early testing for prostate cancer.

DESCRIPTION:ave you ever wondered what it would be like to run wild and free through true African wilderness? \nImagine being surrounded by the animals\, sights and sounds of the African bush as you test yourself against the incredible distance & mental challenges of an ultra trail run. \nIf you are looking for a truly wild trail running adventure\, then we invite you to take on the Addo Elephant Trail Run through the vast and beautiful Addo Elephant National Park in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. \n\n\n\n\nThe Addo Elephant Trail Run was the first triple ultra distance trail running event in South Africa\, offering a choice of 100 Mile\, 76km or 44km distance ultra-trail runs. \nOriginally founded in 2005\, it is also South Africa’s oldest 100 Mile ultra trail race. \nThe 100 Mile distance was resurrected in 2016 with a new and challenging route that takes runners from one end of the park to the other and back again. \nBoth the 76km and the 44km races take place on sections of the same course\, just with slightly less elevation gain. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe courses also take runners through some of the most remote wilderness in the Addo Elephant National Park\, through areas they would not be able to access any other way.

SUMMARY:RB Africa Wild Coast Challenge
DESCRIPTION:Established in 2013\, the Wild Coast Challenge is RB Africa’s own 3-day trail-run along the rugged\, untouched Transkei coastline. Covering 110–120km the run historically started at Mazeppa Bay and finished in Nahoon\, East London\, but in 2019 the run will follow a new route from Cwebe to Chintsa. The WCC is organised and managed through a new partner company\, RB Adventures. It is also used as a platform for raising awareness and funds for charities and non-profit organisations that we are passionate about. In 2016 we supported the Sunflower Fund to broaden knowledge about blood cancer in South Africa\, and the need for stem cell donors. The 2018 run supported Breath of Life\, an NGO situated in East London which assists women with crisis pregnancies and provides a safe house where abandoned babies between the ages of 0-6 months can be taken care of. \nThroughout the duration of the run\, participants get to experience and enjoy some of the best beaches and coastal scenery the area has to offer. The run covers a diversity of testing terrains\, from low lying coastal forest and narrow paths to soft sandy beaches changing daily with the moving tides. \nThis event attracts runners of all ages\, sizes and abilities. It is much more than a typical stage race\, and RB Africa is proud to be associated with such a unique event. Not only does it boost comradery amongst our employees\, and provide a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience South Africa’s wildest coast line\, the run also represents an individual challenge to each person who takes part. \nThe inclusive and cheerful spirit of the herd ensures that every runner completes the run on a high note\, many considering it an all-time life changing experience. Every evening some entertainment is prepared\, including route fly overs\, the days’ photos\, a Q&A session\, lucky draws and fines. The feeling of accomplishment upon finishing such a unique and challenging run is impossible to quantify and the expression on the face of each and every finisher makes it completely worthwhile.

Are you tough enough?  The race is positioned as a conditioner for Two Oceans and Comrades and an ideal opportunity to get an indication of how your training is progressing. \nThis year we are excited to annouce MEDSHIELD as our new sponsor and that the first 2000 online entrants will receive a free t-shirt! \nThe race follows a circular route\, running past the water tower on top of Northcliff Hill and back again. The first half has three challenging hills\, the first starting after one kilometer and then undulating with two more climbs\, the last peaking at the King of the Mountain point at about 14km. The downhill after that is fast\, enabling runners to pick up time. The start and finish are at the Pirates Club\, Braeside Road\, Greenside. \nThere will be NO entries at registration and on the day of the race\, so enter now so to avoid missing out…  The entry cap stands firm at 6000 runners. \nThere will be live entertainment\, food trucks and a licensed bar in the clubhouse.
