The middle distance event (1.9km swim\, 90km cycle\, 21.1km run) offers a cold water swim\, flat and fast route\, and an undulating run – all in full view and against the backdrop of the iconic Table Mountain\, the 8th natural wonder of the world. \nIt’s a POINT-TO-POINT ROUTE:  Get shuttled to Big Bay where a 1.9km cold water swim will test you physically and mentally. Get out of your wetsuit and fuel up in T1\, and get on your bike for a scenic 90km cycle along the coastal road and to T2 in the Cape Town CBD. Have your supporters cheer you on along the 3 x 7km run loop in the city centre. \nThere is a challenge swim and a 6km fun run available too.

DESCRIPTION:“The one with that hill.” Run – voted the best place to get back to nature in Gauteng for 9 years in a row – and climbs the relentless ridges of the adjoining Muldersdrift Hobby Park. The 12km and 20km routes which head into the open rocky Highland grassland and include more technical running sections\, together with the 6km loop\, are all a great challenge to tackle on a Sunday morning. Fiercely competed or enjoyed at a more leisurely pace\, both pass by the cascading waterfall and cliffs home to a breeding pair of majestic Verreaux’s Eagles. Bring a picnic and come and enjoy the gardens with us. There will be food and drinks on sale and a jumping castle for the kids. \nTea\, coffee and assorted muffins will be on sale at the early morning registration. \nEagle’s Fare Restaurant inside the Gardens is open from 09h00 and offers a superb menu or bring along the family and a picnic and enjoy the beautiful setting relaxing on the lawns. \nThe Merrell Summer Kiddies Run will feature a magical 2km marked loop inside the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens. The little trail running enthusiasts will be led by a superhero character alongside either Mom or Dad. START IS AT 09h30. As they cross the line they will be met with cheers and hoots of delight. Moms and Dads please make sure all kiddies have hats\, sunblock and running shoes. We will make sure your telephone number is attached to them. \nEntries will be available on the day.

DESCRIPTION:Challenge the body and restore the soul with the Hennops Big 5 Trail Challenge. \nSet in the heart of Gauteng\, on the doorstep of both Johannesburg and Pretoria\, the event consists of four unique trails which depart from the grass lands\, leading onto single track and jeep track. \nRunners will meander along the Hennops River before veering away into the surrounding mountains. \nWildlife may be enjoyed on route\, with kudu being a welcomed friend along most running trails. Birdlife is diverse\, and the dramatic gorges and plateau areas allow for breath-taking views appreciated by most. \nAt times the trail feels so remote that one can hardly believe that both Johannesburg and Pretoria are less than 45 minutes away\, making freedom an arm’s reach. \nTo qualify for the Hennops Big 5 Medal you are required to complete in at least 4 of the 5 events. DESCRIPTION:The Standard Bank 5150 Ekurhuleni returns to Germiston on 20 October 2019! \nThe event has been hosted successfully at Germiston Lake since 2013 attracting close to 1400 athletes each year since its inception growing to become the biggest standard distance triathlon in South Africa. \nIn addition to thousands of amateur athletes\, the event was frequented by South African Olympic triathletes along with some of South Africa’s best long distance triathletes. \nThe 2019 edition of the Standard Bank 5150 Ekurhuleni sees the return of the FUNTRI distance. The FUNTRI is a short distance which allows novice athletes to enjoy the day in a non-threatening environment. DESCRIPTION:The Expedition Africa Adventure 25km is an adventure race suitable for all levels of fitness. \nTeams of two will complete an unmarked course of approximately 25 km with a aid of a map\, visiting checkpoints on foot\, kayak and mountain bike. \nThis event is ideal to introduce new teams to Adventure Racing\, with fast racing between the top teams at the front. \nTIMES \n\nRegistration from 6h30. (Arrive early to ensure you have enough time to study race route information)\nRace briefing: 7h50.\nRace start: 8h00.\nPrize giving: 12h00.\n\nRACE DISTANCE \nThe race will cover approximately 25 km’s. \n\nDuration between 2 and 4 hours.\nApprox. 17 km cycling and 6 km running/trekking and 2 km kayaking.\n\nRACE DISCIPLINES \n\nMountain biking – teams should be prepared for a range of riding including single track\, steep hills\, gravel roads and sealed roads.\nTrekking – Will involve traveling by foot through rugged terrain.\nKayaking –  Kayaking will be on a dam / flat water. Kayaks and paddles will be provided by race organizers. Fluid Synergy kayaks will be used. These kayaks are very stable and suitable for novices. Teams who are unsure about their swimming ability should bring their own life jackets.\nOrienteering – basic orienteering is an extremely important part of the race. The course is not marked and teams are required to navigate using the map. If you can read a street map you will be fine.

DESCRIPTION:The Klapmutskop trail network is one of the oldest in the Cape\, but still produces wonderful views from the singletrack. The long-distance winners will run to win the local trophy! Join in the fun at the second last in the FALKE trail run series. \nREGISTRATION: From 06h45 at Dirtopia Trail Centre\nDISTANCES: 5km\, 7.5km\, 12.5km & 15km\nSTART TIMES: 15km: 08h00; 12.5km: 08h15\, 7.5km: 08h30 & 5km: 08h45\nCOST: Pre entries close 17 October: 5km – R100\, 7.5km – R120\, 12.5km – R135 & 15km – R150 \nKids under the age of 18 pay only R50. Note this is only for pre entries. Late entries will pay the normal late entry fee \nTiming will be done with Amarider Trail Tags. No tag\, no time: available for rent (R20) or to buy (R100). \nLate entries (if available\, taken on event day) at an additional fee \nROUTE DESCRIPTIONS: The longer routes offer great climbing on jeep track through the vineyards towards Klapmutskop with rewarding singletrack trails and scenic wineland views from the waterpoint of Table Mountain in the distance. The longer distances will be turned around from the normal direction of previous runs. The 5km circles through the vineyards and around the farm dams with lots of birdlife. \nGENERAL INFO: Pre-entries will receive discount and a medal to all finishers! The refreshment station at the Pepper tree on the longer routes will have Powerade\, fruit & jellies and Coke at the finish for all!
