The Two Oceans Trail Run (TOTR) boasts nestled pathways and dramatic landscapes through Newlands Forest to the lower slopes of Devil’s Peak and beyond. As such\, TOTR is also acclaimed as one of the most scenic and spectacular Trail Runs anywhere in the world. \nTrail Run participants start at the University of Cape Town (UCT) at the top of the celebrated Jammie Steps. From there\, you’ll head to Newlands Forest\, encountering an exciting and exacting route\, whether you’re an adventurous beginner or more seasoned at tackling trails. Expect to encounter steep ascents\, technical descents and everything in between! \nIn TOM 2018\, clubs were invited to nominate a handful of promising trail runners for sponsorship. TOM was delighted to host these talented 18-to-21-year-old athletes\, for whom the event would otherwise likely have been inaccessible. So gifted were these club-nominated trail athletes\, that all of them secured a top-ten finish. \nKindly note: You have to be 18 years or older on Race Day in order to run the trail route.

SUMMARY:Arthur Creswell Memorial Ultra Marathon & Half
DESCRIPTION:Race Status re Covid-19: The Arthur Cresswell board is meeting to discuss the best plan going forward. NO decisions have been made thus far about the race. We are also waiting on communication from KZNA and ASA. \nThis year will see this famous run for the 54th year. Conceived in the pub of the Old Country Club in Golf Street\, by late Dave Gardner and Dart Bousefield.  The first 2 years\, 1966 and 1967\, saw the runners coming into Ladysmith via the by-pass\, down Harrismith Road\, turning into Keate Street\, then Queen Street\, running through the old car park next to the Town Hall and finishing with a lap around the old Oval.  Mayor Rankin of Bergville started the Inaugural race at 07h00 on 8 May 1966.  Manie Khun was the first ever winner in a good time of 3:42:20 for 56 km. \nSince those early days\, both the start and the finish have been changed quite considerably.  This year’s race will start in front of Bergville Municipality in Bergville and finish at the LAC Clubhouse in Klipbank Road\, making it a distance of 52km.  Starting time is 06h00.  A 21 km run will also take place on the same day and will start at 07h00 from the LAC Clubhouse in Klipbank Road.  The race could never take place without the sponsorship\, support and help of business houses and the public of Ladysmith.  (Names of businesses who contributed will be published after the event).  We are proud of the fact that our seconding tables are known as some of the best in the country and a very big thank-you to all of those who so willingly man them.  We are looking forward to a large crowd supporting the runners at the finish. \nWe are looking forward to seeing all our supporters there !! \nClick here to download the entry form

Run a total of 48km in 7 Days\, when and where doesn’t matter. When you complete the challenge we send you your medal. \nEvery athlete who has entered for the race will have the opportunity to run the 48km between 30 March and 5 April 2020. You can run when and where you like during these 7 days\, just complete the total 48km before 23:59 on 5 April 2020. You can even run 8km for 6 days. Make up the distance as you wish. On completion we will send your special medal to your preferred address. \nWe were still lucky enough to change the T-shirt design intime. This will be a special once off t-shirt showing that you did this ultra on your own. If you have ordered one initially it will be delivered with your medal. DESCRIPTION:Postponed\, a new date will be set once government restrictions have been lifted. \nThis event is a Comrades Qualifier. \nThe Umgeni Water Marathon takes place during National Week in March every year. The event is held at the Baynesfield Recreational Club which is approximately 21 kilometres outside Pietermaritzburg. \nBaynesfield is a small village just off the Richmond Road (R56) and is easily accessed from Durban by taking the Richmond Road (R56) turnoff at Umlaas Road. From Pietermaritzburg take the Alexandra Road turnoff from Chief Albert Luthuli Road and proceed to the Richmond Road (R56) to Baynesfield. \nOur next event is on 29 March 2020. \nEvent distances\, entry fees\, start times and time limits:\no 42.2 km Run – R260 – 6 am start – time limit 5 hours 30 minutes – half way cut-off 3 hours\no 21.1 km Run – R180 – 6 am start – time limit 3 hours 15 minutes\no 14.475 km Run/Walk – R150 – 6:15 am start – time limit 2 hours 30 minutes \nThere will be parking and tog bag facilities at Baynesfield Recreational Club. The decision to delay the race was taken from us during President Cyril Ramaphosa’s address last night in which he declared a national state of disaster due to the Covid-19 pandemic. One of the many measures imposed to curb the infection rate of the coronavirus is a ban on all gatherings of 100 people or more. \nAlthough this is a massive blow for all of us\, we believe that our Government has made the right decision in trying to address this global crisis. We support the measures Government has elected to impose to slow the spread of the Covid-19. \nAt this stage\, we don’t have a proposed date for the 2020 edition of Drakensberg Northern Trail and ask for your patience and understanding. We will be monitoring the situation closely and endeavour to keep you updated as soon as Government lifts the restrictions due to the national state of disaster.

SUMMARY:Falke Harvest Trail Run
DESCRIPTION:The Falke Harvest trail run at L’Avenir Wine Estate\, presented by Sportsmans Warehouse\, will be held near the R44 about 8 km from Stellenbosch on Sunday 15 March 2020. Come along and make the most out of the last few days of summer on the beautiful trails in the heart of the Cape Winelands. \nWith an option of two distances to choose from\, the whole family can join in on a lovely morning run in the Winelands. Registration starts promptly From 07h00 at L’Avenir Wine Estate. Staggered race starts will see the longest distance of 11 km start at 08h00 and the 6km at 08h15. Pre-entries can be done online at www.dirtopia.co.za until Thursday\, 12 March 2020. Prices start at R130 for the 6km and  R150 for the 11km\, while kids under 18 cost R50. Please note tickets are limited at this special venue and\, if available on event day\, will be at an additional fee. It is also important to note that late entry kids will have to pay the normal late entry fee. \nThis trail route will be a fast course between the lush vineyards with incredible views of the WIneland scenery. Runners tackling the longer 11km route will be using the neighbouring farm of Nooitgedacht terrain. You can look forward to experiencing some singletrack in the forest\, jeep track through the vineyards and winding roads between the orchards. \nTiming for all events will be done with Amarider Trail Tags and timing data will be streamed live on www.trailtag.co.za . If you have a Trail Tag from previous events\, please bring it along to registration. Tags can be rented for R20 or bought on race day for R100.  Medal to all finishers. DESCRIPTION:South Africa’s ballsiest 5km Run is back and ready to raise eyebrows while raising awareness of male cancers. \nicking off at 15h00\, the 5km fun run dares the city’s bravest males to strip down to Purple Speedos and run through the streets in the name of a good cause. \nThe “Run-not-a-race” encourages men of all ages\, shapes and sizes to run five kilometres through peak hour traffic in an effort to drive awareness of the scourge of male cancers in South Africa. The act of stripping down to nothing but a Speedo is not only challenging for runners (and for some onlookers!) but also challenges stereotypes about male cancers\, in the interests of starting conversations about understanding and lowering cancer risk\, and encouraging early testing for prostate cancer.

DESCRIPTION:ave you ever wondered what it would be like to run wild and free through true African wilderness? \nImagine being surrounded by the animals\, sights and sounds of the African bush as you test yourself against the incredible distance & mental challenges of an ultra trail run. \nIf you are looking for a truly wild trail running adventure\, then we invite you to take on the Addo Elephant Trail Run through the vast and beautiful Addo Elephant National Park in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. \n\n\n\n\nThe Addo Elephant Trail Run was the first triple ultra distance trail running event in South Africa\, offering a choice of 100 Mile\, 76km or 44km distance ultra-trail runs. \nOriginally founded in 2005\, it is also South Africa’s oldest 100 Mile ultra trail race. \nThe 100 Mile distance was resurrected in 2016 with a new and challenging route that takes runners from one end of the park to the other and back again. \nBoth the 76km and the 44km races take place on sections of the same course\, just with slightly less elevation gain. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe courses also take runners through some of the most remote wilderness in the Addo Elephant National Park\, through areas they would not be able to access any other way.
