SUMMARY:The Unity Ultra
DESCRIPTION:We find ourselves in a world where we are told to stay away from each other to be safe. The Unity Ultra aims to bring people of all walks and ages together in a unified ‘safe’ celebration of running. A team event\, you create your team and then select your distance. The first 1000 entrants are free. And we will always remember that even though circumstances kept us apart\, running kept us together. \nThe Unity Ultra is a virtual event that aims to unify us in these challenging times through a common goal of walking and running towards a virtual finish line. There are three distances that can be entered (free of charge to the first 1000 entrants). Teams can be made up of two to 10 people\, and you and your teammates need to cover the distance during the specified time period. Each team member will submit their distance/time through our digital channels\, so that we can check your race was completed. There will be prizes up for grabs but the focus is on unity!

SUMMARY:Race the Comrades Legends Virtual Run
DESCRIPTION:The vision of the Comrades Marathon\, the world’s largest ultra-marathon is to stage the world’s largest virtual event – Race The legends. \n About \nThe CMA’s ‘Race The Comrades Legends’ is a running concept based on the stories of the greatest Comrades Legends in history. The official Comrades Marathon website will include an online functionality where runners can virtually compete\, run with and compare with each other and the likes of Bruce Fordyce\, Frith van der Merwe\, Samuel Tshabalala and many others; where each participant creates their own personal story and on completion is able to earn a real medal. \nDATE AND TIME OF RACE \nThe race will be run on Sunday\, 14 June 2020 at 00:00am (12 midnight) and finish at 23:59pm on the actual race date in your time zone. \nSubject to government regulations \nPlease respect the current COVID-19 restrictions/regulations of your Country and run within its constraints. \n ROUTE & DISTANCE \nAnywhere! Find the course of your choice and run your favourite route. Whether it be on your property\, a treadmill or on public roads. \nPlease respect the current COVID-19 restrictions/regulations of your Country and run within its constraints. \nThe following are the different race distance options: \n\n5 km – Couch2Comrades(Fun run)\n10km – Comrades Sprint\n21.1 km – Comrades Legends Half Marathon\n45 km – Half Comrades90km\n90 km – Comrades Legends Ultra\n\nPlan your run wisely! Bring sufficient nutrition\, water and energy drinks with you – or plan ahead so your course covers your nutrition and fluid needs on race day. \nENTRY FEE \nSouth African Entrants (18 May 2020 – 14 June 2020) – R150.00 \nForeign Athletes (International/SADC) (18 May 2020 – 14 June 2020) – $25 \nThere will be no refunds under any circumstances. \nCLOSING DATE OF ENTRIES \nEntries open on 18 May 2020 and close 14 June 2020. \nTIME LIMITS & CUT-OFFS \nYou must upload your race data by 11:59pm on 14 June 2020 to qualify for the finisher medal. \nRACE TIMING \nYour smart phone\, smart watch\, fitness watch or activity tracker is your personal “virtual timing chip”. Start the session and run your selected distance. When you reach the race distance you have entered stop the session and simply\, link your Strava\, Garmin\, Polar or Suunto account to your runner profile. We also support session file imports for GPX\, TCX and FIT formats – you will also be able to manually input running data – so there is nothing holding you back from RACE THE LEGENDS. \nRESULTS \nYour time will be updated to the official results service for the event you participate in. However\, real official timing can only be carried out with homologated chip timing technologies at real certified running events. Please also note\, that even though your watch or phone may deduct pauses you may have taken during your session\, we do not. We measure from start to finish! \nThe results will be published on the Comrades Marathon website and be fully available in our app where you can subscribe to finish notifications for the runners you want to follow. \nGeneral Awards \nAll athletes who finish their respective distance will receive a physical Race the Comrades Legends Medal. \nAll finishers will also receive an online finishers certificate once you have finished your race distance which you will be able to share with all friends and family. \nVirtual race participants will receive their items upon completion of their run (up to 3 – 4 Months after the event). \n

DESCRIPTION:We want to make the Versus Virtual Run 2.0 the biggest virtual run in the WORLD! Join us and many other passionate runners from all over the world as we set to break the record on the 13th of June 2020. Invite everyone far and wide\, it is free after all. \n  \nAll you have to do is enter our event and log in with your Strava details. Then on the 13th of June 2020\, our event will start at 12:00 AM and will be open until midnight on the 13th of June meaning you have 24-hours to go run 5km or more anywhere\, any time. All you have to do on your side is upload your run to Strava. Pretty straight forward right? \nNo start or finish line\, no venue\, no entry fees. This event is 100% virtual. You can run in your yard\, on a treadmill\, up and down in your road\, heck you can even attempt it on your balcony! \n  \nWe just have one rule here: as we all know\, our world is facing a pandemic\, the Corona virus. Anyone who enters the Versus Virtual Run MUST at all times adhere to their local regulations\, whether it’s avoiding public spaces\, not being in crowds bigger than 100 people\, keeping a 1\,5m distance from a person or being in lockdown completely. \n  \nNot only is this event 100% FREE\, but you also stand a chance to win one of many prizes from ASICS\, Garmin\, JBL\, and Versus!
