DESCRIPTION:The SOX Trail Run is known as the most diverse 3-day trail run in South Africa and takes place in the Garden Route\, with 90% of the route laid out within the South Africa National Park’s protected property. You will run on pristine hiking trails in the mountain on day one\, experience the tranquility of our lush\, indigenous forest on day two and end off\, with day three\, along the stunning coastline of the Garden Route. \nTaking place from 7-9 August 2021\, this three-day event can be likened to VIP access to some of the most pristine and isolated locations you can experience on our continent. Besides the fact it takes place in the countries top tourist destination it also showcases the complete variety the Garden Route in the Southern Cape has offer. The journey will take you through the mountains\, forest and coastal terrains respectively. \nDay one escorts you through 30 kilometres of unspoiled mountain single track in the Outeniqua Mountains with amazing views of the surrounding forest and distant ocean. \nDay two\, the forest section\, having an elevation gain of 1147 metres is not a flat by any stretch of the imagination with its circular route taking you through the Goudveld and Millwood State Forest. \nThe final day\, and favourite with many of the returning runners\, is the coastal section of just under 16 kilometres. DESCRIPTION:UTCT presents four trail races of 100km\, 65km\, 35km and 21km that traverse the mountains of the beautiful Cape Peninsula. The host city Cape Town is a world-class destination that features highly on any ‘must visit’ list. \nThe City is shaped by two oceans and Table Mountain National Park\, a dramatic mountain chain that stretches from Table Bay in the north to Cape Point in the south. \nThe races traverse sections of Table Mountain\, Lion’s Head\, Signal Hill\, Orangekloof\, Llandudno\, Hout Bay\, the Constantia Winelands\, upper slopes of Kirstenbosch Nature Reserve and Devil’s Peak\, which form part of the iconic natural world heritage site and one of the new Natural Seven Wonders of the World.\n \nAll four races consist of technical terrain with steep ascents and descents. Weather can vary drastically with near sub-zero temperatures in the early morning on top of Table Mountain  to 30 degrees plus during the latter part of the day. \nParticipants are reminded that the UTCT races are genuine mountain excursions\, necessary care and respect must be taken when running within Table Mountain National Park and surrounds. \n

The third trail run of the Nissan Trailseeker Trail Run Series takes place in what surely must be described as trail running heaven\, the Buffelsdrift Trail Park. The terrain is hard and rocky amongst the grasslands and\, depending on your chosen distance\, will lead you up challenging rocky sections. Runners will experience breathtaking views and possible sightings of the Southern Right whale. When they finally reach the end of the trail in De Hoop Nature Reserve\, they will be filled with a peace and a sense of accomplishment for having completed a trail made in heaven. DESCRIPTION:The Waterberg is one of South Africa’s best loved weekend getaways. Located just 140 kilometres form Pretoria and under 200 from central Johannesburg it is the perfect bushveld retreat from the big city lights. On the 16 th of May 2020 fitness enthusiasts will have another reason to escape the urban hustle and bustle when the inaugural Run Waterberg takes place. \nHosted at the Weesgerus Holiday Resort\, in Modimolle\, the event boasts a road run and three trail running distances. The road run is in fact a reboot of the historic Warmbad to Nylstroom race. It starts at ATKV’s Klein-Kariba Holiday Resort\, Bela-Bela\, and follows the R101 past bushveld farms and private game reserves to Weesgerus. Measuring 26 kilometres in length it is a more challenging run than a standard half-marathon\, not only because of the extended length but also because of the undulating course. \nThe trail runs meanwhile will start and finish in Modimolle’s Weesgerus Holiday Resort. There are 20- and 10-kilometre distances for the avid trail runners. Both routes will wind their way through private farms surrounding Modimolle. Trail runners can expect picturesque scenery and a tough but rewarding run. \nFor the less avid runners in the family\, including the youngest outdoors-men and -women\, Run Waterberg also features a 5-kilometre fun run. The route remains entirely within the safe confines of the Weesgerus Holiday Resort. It is ideal as a walk too\, so non-runners have no need to miss out on the action. \nThe finish venue will also boast a chill zone and live entertainment to ensure that runners make a day of their bushveld excursion. Or better yet\, make a weekend of it. Expect to encounter steep ascents\, technical descents and everything in between! \nIn TOM 2018\, clubs were invited to nominate a handful of promising trail runners for sponsorship. DESCRIPTION:Big O Sports presents a trail running Series in Port Elizabeth on three different Trails! This event will allow athletes the opportunity to experience three different venues under one race. \nEach race is unique in its own way\, from 2 coastal routes to the final race inland\, this series offers it all. DESCRIPTION:The STANDARD BANK Black Mountain Challenge #BlackBeast has been postponed to 22-23 August 2020\, online entries stay open\nThe STANDARD BANK #BlackBeast Black Mountain Challenge\, day 1 will have option between the #BlackBeast Extreme 36km (Marathon at 1100m elevation gain) or #BlackBeast Lite 21km (Half Marathon at +650m elevation gain) while both entries entitles you to Day 2 the Big Sky Trail Run 10km for both Extreme & Lite participants\, The Extreme will have a combined distance of 46km & Lite will be 31km for both days combined. \nYou can also just enter for Big SKy Trail Run 10km on Day2 only . Come enjoy the beautiful well known mountain of Thaba Nchu near Bloemfontein that offers a challenging route & easy yet beautiful Trail run\, the mountain Challenge winning time 2017 was 04h02 (distance was shorter route 27km). \nBoth events are hosted at the Black Mountain Hotel & Spa\, the start of the BlackBeast Lite is from Glamorgan Farm\, participants of the Lite will be transported from hotel to Glamorgan the morning of the race or can travel there with someone that will second for you. The hotel has enough rooms to host all our participants. Family & friends can entertain themselves at hotel with variety of features offered like game drives or game horse back ride to put-put\, beautiful swimming pools\, or go swim in the indoor hot spa pool to relax those aching muscles\, use the spa or other facilities like bar with big screen\, restaurant\, movie theater\, etc. We will also have sport massages available at good rates for those that would like to book them for after the BlackBeast run at hotel. \nParents can now make use of our KiddieDayCare package\, your kids from babies to teenagers will be taken care of qualified Kinderkinetics team (Bio-kinetics\, Kinderkinetics is a specialised field\, which focuses on children from newborn to 12 years of age. SUMMARY:Drakensberg Northern Trail [POSTPONED]
DESCRIPTION:The Drakensberg Northern Trail is a trail running event that takes place in the northern section of the spectacular Drakensberg Mountain Range in South Africa. The main event is a 40km Mountain Challenge. There are 3 shorter distances of 20km\, 10km and 6km making a great weekend of running for all levels of runners and walkers. \nThe race is at high altitude and pushes runners to find new limits within themselves whilst exploring the majestic mountain range. The decision to delay the race was taken from us during President Cyril Ramaphosa’s address last night in which he declared a national state of disaster due to the Covid-19 pandemic. One of the many measures imposed to curb the infection rate of the coronavirus is a ban on all gatherings of 100 people or more. \nAlthough this is a massive blow for all of us\, we believe that our Government has made the right decision in trying to address this global crisis. We support the measures Government has elected to impose to slow the spread of the Covid-19. \nAt this stage\, we don’t have a proposed date for the 2020 edition of Drakensberg Northern Trail and ask for your patience and understanding. We will be monitoring the situation closely and endeavour to keep you updated as soon as Government lifts the restrictions due to the national state of disaster.

SUMMARY:Falke Harvest Trail Run
DESCRIPTION:The Falke Harvest trail run at L’Avenir Wine Estate\, presented by Sportsmans Warehouse\, will be held near the R44 about 8 km from Stellenbosch on Sunday 15 March 2020. Come along and make the most out of the last few days of summer on the beautiful trails in the heart of the Cape Winelands. \nWith an option of two distances to choose from\, the whole family can join in on a lovely morning run in the Winelands. Registration starts promptly From 07h00 at L’Avenir Wine Estate. Staggered race starts will see the longest distance of 11 km start at 08h00 and the 6km at 08h15. Pre-entries can be done online at www.dirtopia.co.za until Thursday\, 12 March 2020. Prices start at R130 for the 6km and  R150 for the 11km\, while kids under 18 cost R50. Please note tickets are limited at this special venue and\, if available on event day\, will be at an additional fee. It is also important to note that late entry kids will have to pay the normal late entry fee. \nThis trail route will be a fast course between the lush vineyards with incredible views of the WIneland scenery. Runners tackling the longer 11km route will be using the neighbouring farm of Nooitgedacht terrain. You can look forward to experiencing some singletrack in the forest\, jeep track through the vineyards and winding roads between the orchards. \nTiming for all events will be done with Amarider Trail Tags and timing data will be streamed live on www.trailtag.co.za . If you have a Trail Tag from previous events\, please bring it along to registration. Tags can be rented for R20 or bought on race day for R100.  Medal to all finishers. No tag\, no time \nTake time after the event to enjoy the beauty of the L’Avenir Wine Estate on the lawns at the dam and perhaps sip on some of the Estate’s Cap Classique Rose or Brut. The refreshment station will have Powerade\, fruit & jellies and Coke at the finish as well as medals for all. Stay for the lucky draw and stand a chance to win products from Falke\, wine from L’Avenir and more awesome products.
