The solo event is officially listed on backyardultra.com and approved by Lazarus Lake\, the race director of the Barkley Marathon. As they say\, “There is no finish. There is only one finisher. The last one standing.” \nThe solo event will follow all the rules as set out by Backyard Ultra. Run a 6\,706+km lap per hour\, or you are disqualified. The last person to finish a lap within an hour wins! No time cap\, no assists on course\, NO POLES\, just pure hourly endurance. \nThe course is made up of a mix of rocky\, hilly terrain and simple flowing jeep tracks. DESCRIPTION:This is an event for Cederberg and Mountain lovers. \nFor the discerning trail runner who enjoys adventure and wilderness. \nYou need to be self-sufficient\, there is no pampering other than of endless panoramic views. \nA skyline trail around the amphitheater of the Kromrivier Valley. \nThe highest point of the trail is Donkerkloof Peak is at 1750 metres. Looking north you can see Sneeuberg\, the highest summit in the Cederberg. \nThe route traverses 6 Peaks\, and each must be reached within a Cut off time\, or you will be short coursed down the Valley. \nBut\, we are generous and if you can hike fast\, maintaining a reasonable tempo\, you will enjoy a thrilling day out. \nThe total distance is 45km\, and the elevation gain a very pleasant 2200 metres – we start at 1000 m\, at Kromrivier Farm. \nThe rock formations are ancient\, seldom viewed\, with a kaleidoscope of colours\, shapes and features.
