DESCRIPTION:The Milky Way Marathon 2024 \nWe are excited to announce a new venue for the Milky Way Marathon in 2024. We were looking for a venue closer to Cape Town with similar dark skies to that of Sutherland and found the perfect site. At an altitude of 1100m\, Leeuwenboschfontein offers an extraordinary view of the night sky that is nearly free from light pollution. \nWhy this race?  \nIn our rushed lives we just don’t slow down enough and enjoy our surroundings. We are too busy for sunset drinks. We don’t stop for a sunrise…segments\, meetings\, phone calls all chasing us to keep BUSY. The MWM will slow you down. It will force you to turn off your headlamp and look UP at the beautiful stars. \nThe run will have a scattered start during the afternoon\, after the sun warmed up the crisp Karoo air. Different groups will be set off\, depending on your estimated marathon pace. DESCRIPTION:What better way to celebrate all hallows eve than a spooky moonlight run through the hills? \nGet into the sprit of Halloween\, and trick or treat your way around either the 5km or 10km courses\, followed by a thoroughly ghoulish Halloween party at Mont Marie. \nTrails will be well marked and marshalled\, as well as paramedics on site\, and there will be a drinks table on route on the 10km route. \nGreat prizes will be up for grabs\, not only for the fastest\, but also for the best (or should we say worst) dressed runners out on the course. \nThe entry fee includes a after party at Mont Marie\, (including dinner) for all runners. DESCRIPTION:We are kicking of the Full Moon Series at Jordan Wine Estate. We will have 6 events this season and you should not miss out on it! \nThere will be a 5km and 10km route. We will be starting as the sun goes down\, so be sure to bring a light or a headlamp (compulsory)\, as a part of your run will be in the dark. It is also important to bring your own cup or soft flask. #ICarrymyown \nThe Jordan Full Moon Run is well known for some steep climbs but a rewarding sunset overlooking Table Mountain makes it worth it\, every time! \nThis is not just a run but a fun evening out\, where you can enjoy live music\, good food and superb wine after the run. SUMMARY:Greyton ReWild Full Moon Trail Runs
DESCRIPTION:As part of the Greyton ReWild Weekend on 7-9 October\, on the Friday evening (7 October)\, you can explore the trails around Greyton by moonlight.  There will be a 6km and 12km full moon trail run.  The race is organised by the non-profit\, Wild Restoration\, in partnership with the Greyton Trail Running Society\, the people who have brought you Greyton Brew Run and Mountain Marathon. \nAll the proceeds go to alien clearing and rewilding the mountains around Greyton.  A headtorch is required for the 12km and recommended for the 6km (a torch on a phone will work too). \nDistances and routes \n\n12km Trail Run – for the more experienced trail runner\, with two big hills and total climbing of 400m.\n6km Trail Run (or walk) – a flat\, easy route suitable for walkers\, families and children. 100m total climbing.
