The night before the race, get your clothes, gear and fuel together. If it’s cold or rainy, pack a black bag to wear before the gun goes off. And always – always – take some extra bog roll.
The clothes, shoes, food, and drinks that have worked for you in training will continue to work for you on race day. Stick with what works.
When you’re well-trained and rested, it’s hard to resist starting-line adrenaline. But you must. If there’s a pace group for your goal time, stick with them until you’ve calmed down.
