Described as tough yet beautiful, the Momentum Knysna Forest Marathon will take place on Saturday 15 July as part of the exciting Pick n Pay Knysna Oyster Festival from 7 to 16 July 2017. The event will not be affected by recent fires in the area and will continue as planned.

Known as one of South Africa’s most sought-after running events, the Momentum Knysna Forest Marathon offers exceptional highlights found in no other race in the world with most of the run taking place deep in the forest.

Helping fire victims

Recently the town of Knysna and surrounding areas were severely affected by the runaway fires and the upcoming Momentum Knysna Forest Marathon will aim towards helping those who lost their possessions as a result. The event is urging runners to donate blankets and/or any form of clothing and contribute to the 2 000 blankets donated by Momentum.

These items can simply be brought along to the event as there will be collection points at the Marathon registration as well as at the race start in the Glebe.

Visitors can also look forward to more than 100 activities during the ten-days, with a mixture of sporting and lifestyle events – enjoy your winter holiday with us while doing your bit to support and uplift the town of Knysna.
