Although 260 kilojoules per kilometre is an estimate of how much you burn, speed and weight factor in, people overestimate how much exercise they’re doing and how hard they’re doing it.
Here’s how to gauge how much you’re burning, according to your weight and speed.
| 7:30/km for 60 minutes(8km) | 5:30/km for 60 minutes(11km) | |
| 60 kg | 1 980 kilojoules | 2 850 kilojoules |
| 72 kg | 2 440 kilojoules | 3 500 kilojoules |
| 86 kg | 2 890 kilojoules | 4 160 kilojoules |

Why is it then on my Polar watch is states that I only burn between 1200 – 1300? is it possible that my speed is too slow? I run on an incline of 3 and a speed of 10 on a tread mill. On the road it is the same.
Linelle, Elnie is right, Polar watches reflect on kCal, I have one too.
Linelle, maybe your watch reflects it in CAL. You have to multiply Cal by 4 to get approx KJ’s. Elnie
hi. What if you weigh 50 kgs?
