Four years ago, Glorius Mooka weighed 84kg and wore size 44 clothing.
On 11 June 2006, she took to the road, and has never looked back.
Initially, she started out by herself, and in 2009, she joined Lichtenburg Marathon Club in North West.
Since joining the club, she now runs marathons, constantly achieving a time of sub 4hrs. Glorius has also taken part in a number of 50km races, achieving sub 5hrs, as well as
completing two Comrades marathons.
Glorius is an inspiration to all, whether a runner or not. She is totally dedicated and takes part in almost every weekly time trial.
When she isnt running, she runs a tuck shop from her home, is a loving wife and looks after her school-going children. It takes great planning and support from her husband when she trains or runs an official race.
To date, Glorius has lost a total of 32kg and weighs 52kg.
She is a true role model for anyone, regardless of whether youre lacing up your takkies for the first time or are an ultra-marathon runner.
