Run For Home by Lindisfarne . Coming from Newcastle in the UK they play it at the start of the Great North Run 21Km . Over 30,000 people compete .It reminds me of home and inspires me to keep pounding the streets !! :-)
I am not really a fan of Dance/Electro Music but these tracks just push me along my runs. Everynight before a run I specifically select then from slower tempo to fast. The faster the beat/ tempo the harder and faster I run. Plus the Some of the Lyrics go like: “Lets move those feet, Lets Go, Lets Go! “If it feels good do it, Put your body into it” & “We hit Turbulence”. That adds some serious motivation and adrenaline on my runs. :-)
My favourite Running tracks:
Tiësto & Wolfgang Gartner – We own the night
Laidback Luke, Steve Aoki & Lil’ John- Turbulence
Thomas Gold – Sing 2 Me
Sidney Samson – Riverside
Hard Rock Sofa – Here we go
Tatana – You can’t get in my head
Swedish House Mafia – Greyhound
Threesome Allstars – Shimmy Lets Move
Swedish House Mafia, the whole “Until Now” album…. especially the first two tracks : Greyhound and Here We Go, they are awesome to start. If I start running with something which is too slow then I will never get into it and it gets difficult the reach a good pace.
Anything by Rihana, Pitbul or Usher
My favorite music to listen to is music that will have a fast beat so that you can have a faster pace without all the strain. Examples include Macklemore and Ryan Lewis- Can’t hold Us and Make the Money, also by Macklemore.
1. Rihanna – Man down, TeAmo, Disturbia, Rehab
2. Kelly Clarkson- People like us, Behind these hazel eyes, My life would suck without you
3. Kelly Rawland- Lay it on me, Down with whatever, When love takes over
4. Keri Hilson & Nelly – Lose control
5.Trey Songz – Heart attack
6. One Direction – One way or another, Best song ever
I find I run best and reach PB’s when I don’t listen to music. There is something really beautiful and liberating about listening to your body!
