For the first time ever, entries will be taken at the Soweto Festival in Nasrec from 23 – 25 September. Visitors at the festival should look out for the Athletics South Africa exhibition stand to get more information about the history and the routes of the Soweto Marathon and to get an entry form.
Entry forms are also available at The Sweatshop Dunkheld, The Sweatshop Irene, Beford Runner in Bedfordview, Run-a-way sport Lynwood, Randburg Runner, Running Inn, Sportsmans Warehouse the Glen and the Orlando Community Hall. Online entry forms are available on www.athletics.org.za or www.enteronline.co.za.
Everybody entering the Soweto Marathon before the closing date will receive a T-shirt and goodie bag at the following number collection venues. This includes Pilditch Stadium in Tshwane (31 October and 1 November), ASA offices in Houghton Estate (2 and 3 November) and at the MTN Expo Centre situated in Nasrec (4 and 5 November).
No T-shirts, goodie bags or race numbers will be given out at sport shops as it will only be available upon registration.
Entry fees are R110 for the 42.2km and R70 for the 10km race/walk, professional walk and the 10km wheelchair race. Those entering the 5km fun run will pay R10. There are no pre entries for the fun run as entries will open on race day only. Penalty fees will be applicable for all late entries and entries after the cut-off date will not receive a T-shirt and goodie bag. Entries close on 21 October 2011.
Athletics South Africa (ASA) will also be taking entries at various races in September and October. See list below to find a race closest to you and look out for the ASA gazebo on race day to get your entry form.
