SURVIVE THE WEATHER!

Try to keep as warm as possible while waiting at the start. Pack bin bags, old clothes (or buy “cheap” layers from Pep or something similar) to discard en route.

Think about what’s going to be exposed: hands, ears, nose! Two “buffs” can be fashioned into a balaclava of sorts, that will keep your face warm and prevent your nose from freezing (and getting, er, crusty).

Try two pairs of socks with a layer plastic between to keep your feet dry and prevent blisters when you actually start running.
