27 May 2012, Deer Park, Vredehoek
placeholder

Experience beautiful Deer Park, the lower slopes of Devils Peak and Table mountain, overlooking the majesty of early morning Cape Town. Run on simple jeep track, with a climb of over 1 400m, gained over the duration of the 25km route.

Starting at Deer Park, the route undulates toward the Block house. Plum pudding hill looms large as the first major uphill. Runners will continue down to Mount Pleasant, before heading back in the Deer Park direction. Around the 15 km mark, runners will ascend to over 330m. A short, single track is followed by the last major gradient climb. Runners nearly reach the S bends going up to Tableberg Road, turn around and head straight for Deer Park.

Keeping runners safe, happy and going in the right direction are enthusiastic marshals, mountain bike guides, paramedics, first aiders, water tables and supporters.

There will be sponsored prizes for the first three men and women.

Unique Fact:
this event is put on and managed completely by the Volunteer Wildfire Services (VWS), a Non Profit Organisation dedicated to the control and putting out of wildfire in the Western Cape. The race plays a vital role in funding.
