placeholder

The 24km mountain run is through the beautiful and challenge Witteberg mountain range, near Ficksburg in the Eastern Free State. This year sees the weekend of sport and festivities grow once again, with the 35km mountain bike Rogaine on the Sunday, as well as the introduction of the ‘Pyramid Challenge’ where athletes will be given the chance to take on the ‘beast’ a 30% gradient vertical ascent and descent of the first pyramid at Moolmashoek Nature Reserve. A tri-challenge medal awaits those who can conquer all 3 events over the weekend.

A weekend festival of Free State hospitality awaits, and an introduction to ‘sky running’ where both elite skyrunners and accomplished trail runners get to challenge themselves. The event isn’t just about the challenge, but also the views from the top. Ryan Sandes describes it as the ‘perfect family weekend adventure with non-stop activities and a great festive atmosphere. The hospitality is rooted in the management of the Moolmanshoek Guest Lodge and the beautiful private nature reserve serves as HQ for the weekend activities.

Entry to the 24km includes: a race shirt, three evening meals and a sausage roll after the event. Entries close on 1 Setepmber 2012.
