Sanlam Niel Joubert Plaaswedloop 13km

This is a beautiful, undulating route which offers spectacular views of mountains, dams, vineyards and fruit orchards. Except for a short but very steep hill, shortly after the 4-kilometre mark, the first seven kilometres are fairly easy. From this point there is a very steep but scenic climb into the mountains through fynbos. This hill is fondly known as “moerse bult”. The last quarter of the race is flat and then downhill; a beautiful, easy canter past dams, through vineyards and on to the finish.

Cash prizes go to the top three finishers in each category. The first 10 men and women win gold medals, the next 240 finishers win silver, and the next 750 finishers receive bronze.
