Run for the first time this year, this run will offer a unique opportunity to explore the Drakensberg Mountains, surrounding Sabie. Three breathtaking stages will challenge strength, stamina, speed and a sense of adventure.
The pro and light categories will test even the most seasoned explorer, but the less experienced are guaranteed to have a huge amount of fun on trails which lead through stunning gorges, ravines, waterfalls and shaded forest paths.
Outside entries will be available for the Stage 2 Night Run, available to family and friends. Entries will cost R100 per runner and will be available between 5pm and 6:30pm on 16 December. The distance will be 11km.
The following distances for the Pro and Lite Race are provisional and 95% correct :
Pro Race: Stage 1: 16km 465m Elevation Gain 32GI Refreshment station @ 3km and @11km into the stage
Stage 2: 11km 73m Elevation Gain 32GI Refreshment station @ 6km into the stage
Stage 3: 18km 367m Elevation Gain 32GI Refreshment station @ 6km and @12km into the stage
TOTAL: 45km 905m Elevation Gain
Lite Race: Stage 1: 8km 248m Elevation Gain 32GI Refreshment station @ 3km into the stage
Stage 2: 11km 73m Elevation Gain 32GI Refreshment station @ 6km into the stage
Stage 3: 11km 101m Elevation Gain 32GI Refreshment station @ 6km into the stage
TOTAL: 30km 422m Elevation Gain
Expect a festive, carnival atmosphere including lots of activities, stalls, a kids play area, beer garden, various eateries and pumping music to keep the whole family entertained. Hot chocolate, great coffee and muffins will be for sale at the start of each stage. A pasta dinner will be on sale for R60 per person after the Night Stage (as well as a Tommy’s Bar menu).
A goodie bag worth R300 will be given to each entrant.

Please note that start times will remain fixed (Starting at the York Sports grounds in Sabie), but the distances may change slightly as routes are mapped and approved by the land owners.
