This year, organisers hope to get at least 200 entrants from KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng to the farm, to enjoy a weekend in the bush with friends and family.
The 5km trail runs are relaxed and scenic, through the farms natural bush and over streams. The 14km runs are intermediate and include a beautiful section of single track, and a challenging up hill climb out of the valley. The 30km trail run is challenging and technical, for adventurers willing to take on wild game on foot.
Accommodation & food: A tented village, 200m from the start, features basic dome tents that sleep two. All you need to do is bring your bedding and mattress. Wholesome food is provided throughout the weekend, from Friday night to Sunday night, and includes options for children.
Other attractions: Untouched, natural acacia forests, abundant with wildlife; suspended bridges; a jumping castle, face painting and 700m run for the kids. You can also book game drives through the 5 star Nambithi Game Reserve.
Unique Fact: Newborn Nguni calves cannot wait to meet you all in April.
Community Involvement: Ladysmith Town Scouts will assist with mapping and marking of all routes. The Nguni Trail Run has recently got involved with Ikhaya Lethu: a local orphanage in Colenso, KZN. A donation will be given to them to help uplift facilities and improve the lives of these innocent lives at prize giving of the trail run. Some of the kids will even compete against you, and are raring to take you on.
