Runners will follow a tough route along a hiking path, up the Mahai Valley past the Mahai Falls, to the Witsieshoek Mountain Resort, a climb of some 17 000 metres over a distance of 9km. For the next 9km, expect rough undulating dirt road for a further climb of 300m. Runner’s will reach the Tugela River on the summit, before taking a zig-zag hiking path past the Witches, the Sentinel, Western Butress and Sentinel Caves to the Chain Ladders, a further climb of 450 metres.
Next, participants will climb up to the top of the Tugela River, before a descent down a gentle slope, to the Tugela Falls. Follow the pathway that lead to the chain ladders, all the way back to the finish.
Kids will enjoy the Bonitas Lucky KidZone; a secure and managed area with face painters, jumping castles, fun workshops and more. There is lots of accommodation available in the area.
