Description
The race is 20 miles 32km. The race starts at the 13km peg on the Shamva Rd and climbs steadily up to Glen Lorne, and undulates to Old Georgians Sports Club in the suburb of Groombridge where the finish is.
Harare Athletic Club is the oldest and most established running association in Harare. The club has been meeting the needs of runners and hosting races and events since its inception in 1949.
The 20 Miler is by far the most important of all races in the Harare and National calendar and is HAC’S premier event. The first 20 Miler was held in 1971 with 28 entrants and 24 starters. The men’s record is still held by Paul Moqhali of Swaziland; 1.42.30 set in 1991. 2011 will see the running of the 41st Europcar 20 Miler with another bumper field expected, comprised mainly of local athletes.
A temporary license is not required however a clearance letter from the individuals club would be required if coming from outside Zimbabwe.
Transport is provided to the start from the finish at Old Georgians Sports Club.





First time and enjoyed it alot. Lovely countryside initially then into town with increased traffic – traffic the only reason for 3 – 4 star not 5. route otherwise great but very tough – 85% uphill. limped in on one cylinder!
