The route begins with an uphill climb for 2km, followed by 5km downhill, then 7-8km uphill. It is flat for the next 4km, before a fast and downhill 2km. Expect 200m of off-road terrain and a little climb, before a flat section towards the finish. The second lap is the same as the first 15km lap, with an extra 2km loop on a flat section in a residential area at the 24km mark.
Handouts will include: Sponsor’s Product, T-shirt and medals to 5 000 participants. Medals will be awarded to the first 500 finishers of the 5km Run/Walk. Stick around after the race for family fun including jumping castles and food stalls. There will be a lucky draw for all 32km and 15km entrants, where you could go home with one of two pairs of running shoes.
Entries are limited to 5 000 across both the 32km & 15km distances. The closing date for entries is Sunday 22 April 2012, at midnight. You can also hand deliver entries to Boksburg City Stadium, Club Room 2 (from Monday to Friday, between 9am and 12am – closing date: Wednesday 2 May 2012) or at local sports shops (closing date – Sunday 22 April 2012 at 12pm). Enter the 5km Fun Run/Walk on race day only.
