What a beautiful route on a perfect Spring day in Cape Town to run this very well organised marathon!
The last 10km on Beach Road was such a bonus and a healing salve on sore feet and tired muscles and flagging spirit! It was actually quite fun running on the promenade amongst beach revellers and kids on tricycles, and laughing at their shocked faces when they realised what is happening around them!
The water stations were good, there were excellent marshalls and traffic control despite being in the middle of the city, the MyCity bus and staff were really excellent and clean and helpful and most of all – completely efficient and on time!
I was impressed with the organisation, from the beginning to the end.
Only gripe – no food to eat, such as fruits and potatoes? Only one station had chocolate blocks and jelly babies.
Excellent race – no wonder the world record was broken on this day!
An excellent and beautiful race. An amazing view of Table Mountain. Very good support and excellent marshalls- even for a slower runner it was a pleasure!
