Description
Now in its 4th year, entry fees are donated to the Carel du Toit Centre; an organization based at Tygerberg Hospital, which supports hearing impaired children. The first 1000 finishers of the 5km receive a medal, as do the first 1400 of the 10km. In addition, the first 1300 entrants receive a goody bag.
Pre-entries are available, but you can also enter on race day, from 5:30am.
Good organisation, lots of marshalls, overall well put on (although it was my first race, so that’s compared to my expectations more than experience with other races). My only complaint was the course — it did a clover-leaf in the last 4km, so lots of looping around and seeing people running in the other direction…not the most fun. Also, the finish was awkwardly arranged (uphill 270-degree turn into a car park) so it was hard to do a final sprint.
