Unique Fact: On completing their third Baviaanskloof Trail Run a runner will receive a limited edition numbered signed Alan Ainslie print of a black rhino. The 37cm x 30cm prints, of which there are only 50 of each edition, are signed by the artist and beautifully framed. Each presentation has a plaque identifying it as a ‘Legend’ award.
Alan Ainslie is one of South Africa’s leading wildlife artists renowned for his bronzes and charcoal drawings, and his Baby Big 5 collection of stamps commissioned by The South African Post Office was released last month.
Take on unspoiled, rugged terrain and experience the unique privilege of running with Cape Cobra, Black Rhino, Cape Buffalo, spekboom, cycad and the endangered Willowmore Cypress. You’ll also pass numerous rock art sites, littered with human history, legends and fables.
The route is approximately 40km and will cover some of the roughest, most rugged and inhospitably terrain in the Baviaanskloof. Aside from one feeding station on the route, runners will be required to be self supporting.
Other than a few floating trophies, all runners will be treated equally, with the same pre and post race hand outs.
