PG Glass Vlakvark Trail Run

All routes are run completely within the Faan Meintjies Nature Reserve, just outside Klerksdorp and runners can expect to see an abundance of wildlife including white rhino, blue wildebeest, antelope and giraffe. All routes have jeep track and really great single track sections, but they are not easy and both include some challenging hilly sections. There are braai facilities and refreshments available after the run.

A relatively easy race through a nature reserve abundant with wildlife. Watch out for the sting in the tail – a nasty 4km section consisting mostly of scenic single track. The 10km race follows a more demanding, circular route.

Unique Fact: a trophy will be awarded to the first man and woman to finish the 21km race. In addition, there will be cash prizes and lucky draw prizes. The first 200 entries for the 21.1km will receive a t-shirt.

Starting time: 21.1km, 10km & 5km: 7am.

Pre-entries, available by e-mailing your printed entry form to KlerksdorpMarathon@gmail.com. You can also enter on race day, from 5:30am.

Walkers welcome. No dogs allowed within the reserve.

My name is Rose Mentink and I am a runner from The Netherlands.
Together with some of my running friends I came up with run on Octber 4. The reason we want to run is violence on the world right now. We figured: runners are happy peaceful people and they are all over the world.
If they all run at noon on the same day and make that a run4love we have runners all over the world in every timezone focussing on worldwide love. So I wrote a blog about is and it is going all over the world.
I am hoping yu will read it too and share it with local runners. The blog is written in Dutch, but I translated it in English too: http://stoerevrouwensporten.nl/blogs/run4love/
