The last time I ran a half marathon, I noticed that a fellow runner and I kept passing one another over the last 5 kays or so. Now, even though I am by no means a serious racing type, my natural competitiveness took over and I decided to dice the guy. Game on!

I’ve been a runner for over 12 years now and I’ve seen changes to the sport come and go. As long as I can get from the start to finish of my run comfortably, then nothing much bothers me. Recently, my daughter has begun running with me, which is great. I just can’t cope with her need for me to run in all the latest gear. She’s a good runner and far better than I ever was, but is this reason to listen to her technical and insistent pleas for me to buy the latest shoes and change brands to make me a better runner? – Belinda
